Beavertail Light is one of the most historically significant striper fishing grounds in New England. In the 1920's through the 1950's, this site was home to numerous sportsman associations and camps, including the legendary Beavertail Fishing Club. The remnants of rusty steal posts can still be seen embedded in the rocks, evidence of the numerous fishing platforms installed here during this bygone era. Anglers today still fish the rocky shoreline in the hopes of landing a trophy sized striped bass.
